Lakmali Jayasinghe
Dr. Jayasinghe is a teacher and academic who works across literature, film, law, and the digital humanities using cross-cultural and interdisciplinary methods. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Anglophone and World Literatures at the Central Connecticut State University. She has been teaching and mentoring both college and high school students since 2004. Previously, Dr. Jayasinghe taught at Stanford University as a Lecturer in the Civic, Liberal, and Global Education (COLLEGE) program. She also taught in the Stanford Continuing Studies program, the Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies program, the Stanford Language Center (French), and at the City College of New York. She has won over twenty fellowships and awards during the last few years, the most recent being the Stanford Historical Society’s 2021 Susan W. Schofield Oral History Award for Excellence in the Practice of Oral History. Dr. Jayasinghe’s research interests include topics in world literature and film, translation studies, immigration, border surveillance, and human rights.
Verité Research, as the name implies, is an independent think tank with research at its core. We carry out this research along four areas –economics, politics, media, and law. Leveraging this research, we provide strategic analysis and advice to governments, organisations, and the private sector in Sri Lanka and beyond.
