Ranil Dhammapala is the Senior Meteorologist at South Coast Air Quality Management District in California, USA. He has over 25 years of experience working in atmospheric sciences. His work involves air pollution forecasting, data analysis, modeling and providing technical consultation to policy makers. He is also a volunteer air quality fellow for the US Embassy’s air monitoring programs in Sri Lanka and Kazakhstan. Ranil holds a PhD in Atmospheric Sciences from Washington State University, and has studied and worked in Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
