In this role, you will:
- Utilize expertise in economics, mathematics, and quantitative analysis to design and implement statistical models for analyzing public perception data, including logistic regression models.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute research projects aimed at addressing pressing social, economic, and policy issues.
- Apply machine learning algorithms to explore complex datasets and uncover insights relevant to political dynamics, such as gerrymandering of district boundaries.
- Lead quantitative analysis initiatives across the organization, overseeing the design, implementation, and interpretation of research findings.
- Engage with government agencies, policymakers, and other stakeholders to disseminate research findings and advocate for evidence-based policy solutions.
What we require:
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field. Strong academic background with coursework or research experience in econometrics, statistical analysis, and quantitative methods.
- Work experience: Minimum of six months to one year work experience.
- Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing R or STATA for data analysis, showcasing a strong commitment and enthusiasm for data analytics and problem-solving. Additionally, recent exposure in the specified field would be an added advantage
- Language Proficiency : Full professional working proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English is required. Professional working proficiency in reading, writing and speaking Sinhala and/or Tamil.
