Asita de Silva

Asita de Silva is a Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, where he has been a founding member of the department since 1993. He received his MBBS from North Colombo Medical College in 1991 and his DPhil in Clinical Pharmacology from the University of Oxford in 1997. In 2005, he established the Clinical Trials Unit at the University of Kelaniya in collaboration with the Clinical Trials Service Unit at Oxford. A Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London) and a member of the British Pharmacology Society, he has received numerous research awards, including multiple President’s Awards for Scientific Publication. In 2019, he was awarded the Vidya Jyothi, Sri Lanka’s highest honor for science.
