Asoka Obeyesekere is a barrister and political scientist. He is presently an Edward S. Mason Fellow pursuing a Masters in Public Administration (MPA) at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Previously Asoka had been the Executive Director at Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL) where he worked on diverse Anti-Corruption and Governance areas. He is a regular commentator in the local and international media.

Prior to TISL, Asoka was a Governance Consultant at Verité Research, where he founded and led the Manthri.lk team that runs Sri Lanka’s only parliamentary performance monitoring platform. Asoka has worked in Westminster-based political think-tanks and has private sector experience from his time as a graduate trainee at Ernst & Young, London. 

Asoka holds a L.L.B. from Queen Mary College and a M.Sc. in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics & Political Science. He was called to the Bar at the Inner Temple.
