Manager - Learning and Development
Nalanga Hettiarachchi is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at FFC Kandy and a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Peradeniya. She works as the Learning and Development Manager for Verité Research (VRU). She also works as a Behavioural Psychology Consultant for adh_we, a UK based consultancy group.
She obtained her MSc in Cognitive and Evolutionary Anthropology from the University of Oxford, and her BA honours in Psychology from the University of Peradeniya. She is also a Chevening Scholar (21/22) and the current Treasurer of the Chevening Alumni Association of Sri Lanka.
She has previously worked at the Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford as a teaching facilitator. Her areas of research include mainly Social and Cultural Psychology. She has several publications under her name. Her master’s thesis was on the topic ‘Detecting Red Flags: Evaluation and Communication of Men’s Emotion Regulation on Female Partner Choice.’ Her undergraduate dissertation was on ‘Perceived Fairness and Attitudes on the Gendered Division and Equal Sharing of Domestic Work: An Explorative Study.’

Verité Research, as the name implies, is an independent think tank with research at its core. We carry out this research along four areas –economics, politics, media, and law. Leveraging this research, we provide strategic analysis and advice to governments, organisations, and the private sector in Sri Lanka and beyond.
