Siyama Ansar
Research Communications Executive
Siyama Ansar is a Research Communications Executive in the Economics Team at Verité Research.
She is a Graduate of Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, completed B.A. Economics (Hons.) with a First Class (3.91 GPA). She was awarded 5 Gold medals including the Medal for the best academic performance in the university.
She has published a journal article named: ‘Breaking the shell: labour force participation among married women by ethnic subgroups in Sri Lanka,’ in Sri Lanka Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities.
She was a member of the Editorial Board of the student E-magazine named ‘The View’, Volume 1 and 2 under Accelerating Higher Education Expansion and Development (AHEAD) project. She has published articles in the same magazine named: ‘The effect of Covid 19 on households’, ‘Is MCC better or bitter?’.
She has attained a sound background in economics, labor economics, data handling, econometrics, conducting research and research writing and translation.
Verité Research, as the name implies, is an independent think tank with research at its core. We carry out this research along four areas –economics, politics, media, and law. Leveraging this research, we provide strategic analysis and advice to governments, organisations, and the private sector in Sri Lanka and beyond.
