Vishakha Sooriyabandara is Professor and Head of the Department of Political Science at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka, where she has taught for over 28 years. Her expertise includes environmental politics, gender politics, public policy, and political philosophy. Concurrently, she practices law as an Attorney-at-Law. Her prior experience includes leadership roles as Chairwoman of the Rubber Research Institute of Sri Lanka and Director of Ocean View Development. She holds an MPhil (Political Science), LLM (Commercial Law), BA (Political Science), LLB, and a Master’s in Human Rights and Democratisation.
